Our History & Our Story
Lynette Johnson was already an award winning Standard Bank Top Women Finalist and former Coordinator of an IDP Skills Acquisition Centre in Nigeria when she hatched the idea of a nonprofit organisation.
Her vision was to pool the charitable resources of the world’s do-gooders for the betterment of members of disadvantaged communities in South Africa.
Public benefit activities would then be created for the personal, social and economic improvement of the residents of these communities.
From that revolutionary idea, the Johnson Community Development Nonprofit Company was born on 22 July 2020.
A year later, the organisation was selected as a beneficiary for Xperien’s Socio Economic Development initiative, a process of social and economic advancement in a society towards black people.
Our Work
We aspire to grow from a small team of Social Entrepreneurs to having more agents of change across South Africa. That way JCD NPC become a nationwide organisation with a 9-province network of staffed community based satellite offices serving the disadvantaged through our public benefit activities.
